# Performance Inspector

The Performance Inspector shows how much Divi Torque script and stylesheet weight your pages load, and points out settings that add weight for no benefit. It reads data your site already has. It makes no test requests and sends nothing off your server.

## How to turn it on

1. Go to Divi Torque > Extensions.
2. Switch Performance Inspector on. The change applies immediately.
3. Open Performance Inspector from the Divi Torque menu.

The Performance Inspector is off by default.

## How it measures

Measurement is passive. Once the extension is on, each time a visitor loads a page on the front end, the site records the file size of the Divi Torque scripts and stylesheets that page printed. It records a page at most once an hour and keeps the results for a day, for up to 300 pages.

This means a new page has no measurement until someone has visited it. Browse your key pages after you switch the extension on, then rescan. The sizes are file sizes on disk, before any server compression.

## The four checks

**Page weight over the budget.** Flags a page whose Divi Torque scripts and stylesheets add up to more than the internal budget of 150 KB. The budget is a starting point for comparison, not a standard. Developers can change it with the divitorque/performance_inspector_budget_kb filter. Graded warning.

**Divi 5 files on a page with no Torque module.** Flags a published page that has no Divi Torque module in its content while the Divi 5 stylesheet and script are available on the site. The check reads page content only. It does not read Theme Builder headers and footers, and Divi Torque already skips its Divi 5 files on single posts and pages whose content and Theme Builder layouts contain no Torque module. Treat this finding as a prompt to look at the page, not proof of a load. Graded warning.

**Enabled but unused modules.** Lists Divi Torque modules that are enabled but not used on any page, so you can disable them in Module Manager. This check waits until the module usage scan has finished. Graded notice.

**Empty Instagram feed cache.** Flags a connected Instagram account whose cached feed is empty. The next page view with an Instagram Feed module then calls Instagram live instead of using the cache. Graded notice.

## Reading the report

The report opens with two counters: Warning and Notice. Findings that point at a page have an Edit button that opens it. Fix the warnings first.

## Rescanning

Results are cached for one hour. Saving a post or page clears the cache. The Rescan button runs the checks again immediately and re-reads the measurements collected so far. It does not visit your pages.

## What it does not do

The Performance Inspector does not run speed tests, measure load time, or check images, fonts, caching, or other plugins. It reports Divi Torque's own script and stylesheet weight and the settings above. Use a dedicated speed testing tool for a full picture.
