# Table of Contents

The **Table of Contents** module automatically builds a navigable list from your page's headings — improving long-form readability and on-page SEO. It scans the content, links each heading, and highlights the section a reader is currently viewing.

## How to add the Table of Contents module

1. Add the **Table of Contents** module — usually at the top or in a sidebar column.
2. Set the heading-level range to include.
3. Optionally point the **Content Area Selector** at a specific region, or leave it to auto-detect.

## Content

### Content & Preset

- **Style Preset** — Default, Card, Bordered Box, Accent Bar, Filled/Tinted, Numbered Circles, or Minimal.
- **Show Title** and **Title Text**.
- **Start Heading Level** / **End Heading Level** — the H1–H6 range to list.
- **Content Area Selector** and **Exclude Selector** — scope which headings are scanned.
- **Minimum Headings** — hide the module when too few headings exist.

### Behavior

- **Collapsible** whole list and sub-headings (with start-collapsed options and a choice of **Collapse Icon**).
- **Smooth Scroll** with a **Scroll Offset** for fixed headers.
- **Highlight Active Heading** while scrolling.
- **List Marker** (Numbered, Bullet, Circle, None) and a **View More** option for long lists.
- **Sticky on Scroll** with a top offset and max height; **Hide on Phone**.

## Design

- **Title** — bottom spacing and text styling.
- **Links** — **Link Color**, **Active Color** (also drives the preset accent), **Active Background**, **Hover Color**, **Marker Color**, link padding, item spacing, and nested indent.

## Tip

Enable **Sticky on Scroll** with a **Sticky Max Height** so a long contents list follows the reader down the page without overflowing the screen.
