Native Divi 5 ModulePro
Divi Advanced Blurb
Pair an icon or image with a heading and text — the classic blurb, upgraded.
Why use the Divi Advanced Blurb module?
The blurb is the workhorse of a marketing page: an icon or a picture, a heading, a couple of lines, sometimes a button. Divi ships one, and it stops exactly where most pages need it to keep going. No video. No chip behind the icon. No hover treatment on the image. No control over the heading level, which quietly costs you a sensible document outline.
Advanced Blurb is the same shape with the gaps filled in. Three media types instead of two, media on any of three sides, an icon box, image hover animations, a real button group, and a heading tag you choose.
The blurb beside this is the live module.
One module, three media types
An icon, a picture or a video sits at the top, the left or the right, and the content lines up with it.
What you get out of it
Everything the Divi Advanced Blurb module does
Every option below ships in Divi Torque Pro. The list is drawn from the module settings.
See the Divi Advanced Blurb in action
Every card below is the live module, not a picture of one. The three media types are the first thing to choose between, and the third one is the reason this module exists.
Media · Icon
Any icon from the Divi picker, with an optional chip behind it.
Icon
The classic blurb. The icon takes a colour, a size and a box of its own.
Media · Image
A picture, with an optional hover animation.
Image
The image sits above the text here, and its width is a setting rather than a guess.
The media type Divi’s own blurb does not have
A YouTube or Vimeo link goes through the oEmbed provider and embeds properly. Any other URL renders as an HTML5 player, so a self-hosted MP4 works too. Give a video blurb the full width of its column.
Media · Video
The same module, with Media Element set to Video.
Video in a blurb
Heading, body and button behave exactly as they do with an icon or an image. Only the media element changes.
Where the media sits
Top, left or right. Content alignment is a separate setting, so the two combine rather than fight.
Placement · Top
The default, and the one that suits a row of equal cards.
Top
Media above the heading, everything left aligned underneath it.
Placement · Left
The icon leads and the text runs beside it.
Left
This is the layout for a list of features down a column.
Placement · Right
The mirror image, for a two column section.
Right
Media on the right, and the content aligned to match it.
The icon box
A chip behind the icon, with its own background, size and corner radius. Four of the shapes it makes.
Circle
Radius at 999px.
Circle
A round chip is the usual choice.
Squircle
A soft 12px corner.
Squircle
Softer than a square, calmer than a circle.
Square
Radius at zero.
Square
Sharp corners, which suit a technical page.
No box
The chip switched off entirely.
No box
Just the glyph, at whatever size you set.
What the image does on hover
Zoom, grayscale, or an icon revealed over the picture. Hover any of these three.
Zoom
The picture scales to 1.08 inside its own frame.
Zoom
A small scale on hover, clipped by the frame so nothing moves around it.
Grayscale
Desaturated at rest, colour on hover.
Grayscale
It ships desaturated and the colour comes back when someone hovers it.
Overlay icon
An icon fades in over the picture.
Overlay
Set an overlay icon and it appears over the image on hover. It applies to images only.
With a button, and centred
The button carries a full Divi button group, so it matches the rest of the site rather than the plugin.
Centred, with a button
Alignment centre, media on top.
Image and a button
A picture, a heading, two lines and an action.
Heading level
The same card with the title set to H5 rather than H3.
Your outline, your call
Title HTML Tag runs H1 to H6, set per blurb, so a page of them does not have to flatten your document outline.
Building one takes about a minute
Three steps, and none of them involve custom CSS.
