A gallery grid makes every image compete for the same attention. A carousel gives each one the full width for a moment, then moves on, so a long set of work fits in the height of a single card.

Upright, for a sidebar

Turn the carousel vertical and it moves one slide at a time down the column instead of across the page. It suits a narrow slot beside the content, which is why this one sits in half the width rather than all of it.
