Social Share

Let readers share any page in one click.

Why use the Divi Social Share?

Share buttons usually arrive as a third-party script that loads trackers, ignores your type scale and drops a floating bar over your content. Social Share is a Divi module: no external script, no tracking, and it sits exactly where you put it. Here's what makes it worth adding to your page:

  • Pick only the networks you actually want — X, Facebook, Messenger, Pinterest, LinkedIn or WhatsApp.
  • Horizontal or vertical, classic or modern, with icon-only or icon-and-label buttons.
  • Icon size, colour, background, padding and spacing are all yours to set.
  • Built entirely in the Divi Builder — fully responsive, on-brand & no extra plugins.

The foot of a blog post — which is the only place a share row belongs. A reader who has just finished the article is the one most likely to pass it on.

What a slow page really costs you

Fahim Reza · 8 min read

We spent a fortnight measuring what a third-party share widget actually adds to a page: 84KB of JavaScript, two tracking cookies and roughly 300ms of main-thread work before a visitor can scroll. On a mid-range phone that is the difference between a page that feels instant and one that feels sticky.

Replacing it with a native module removed all of it. The buttons are plain links with a share URL — no script, no cookie, no handshake with anyone else's server. The rest of this post is how we measured it, and what we would do differently.
