Native Divi 5 Module
Divi Table Maker
Data tables that stay readable on a phone.
Ask AI about the Divi Table Maker module
Why use the Divi Table Maker module?
A table is the one thing the Divi builder has never had a good answer for. The options are a plugin that brings its own interface and its own stylesheet, a block pasted into a text module that ignores your fonts, or a grid of columns pretending to be a table until someone opens it on a phone.
Table Maker is deliberately small. Each row is a child item with one field, and you type the cells separated by a pipe. Six settings dress the whole table, and the result inherits your page styles instead of fighting them.
The table beside this is the live module. Its rows are literally "Setting | What it does | Default".
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| First Row As Header | Styles the top row as a header band | On |
| Header Background | Fill colour behind the first row | Divi blue |
| Header Text Color | Text colour in the first row | White |
| Striped Rows | Tints every even row | On |
| Cell Padding | Space inside every cell, 0 to 80px | 12px |
| Border Color | Colour of the cell borders | Light grey |
What you get out of it
A row is one fieldType the cells separated by a pipe. No cell-by-cell interface to click through, no spreadsheet to import.Six settings, and that is the lotHeader row, header colours, stripes, cell padding and border colour. Nothing to learn, nothing to undo.Wide tables scroll, not overflowThe wrapper scrolls sideways inside its own column, so a six column table cannot push the page out at 390px.It inherits your designThe table is a normal Divi module, so the full background, border, shadow, spacing and sizing groups apply to it.Rows are child itemsReorder them by dragging, duplicate one to keep a format, or turn a row off without deleting it.Native on Divi 5Built on the Divi 5 engine. No shortcode shim, no Divi 4 framework underneath it.
Everything the Divi Table Maker module does
This is the whole settings panel, not a selection from it. Table Maker is a small module on purpose, and the list below is honest about that.

Every table below is the live module. The rows are child items and each one holds a single line of pipe separated text.
Header row and stripes
The default: first row styled as a header, even rows tinted.

Two columns, no stripes
A spec sheet reads better without them. Stripes are one toggle, and cell padding is one number for the whole table.
Tight, unstriped
Padding at 10px and stripes off.

Roomy, striped
The same table at 20px padding with stripes back on.

No header row
Turn the header off and every row is treated the same. Opening hours do not need a heading to make sense.
First Row As Header · off
Three columns, no header band, stripes carrying the rhythm instead.

On a dark band
Header fill, header text and the border colour are three settings, so a near-black section needs no stylesheet.
Recoloured
Header filled white on ink, borders dropped to a hairline.

Building one takes under a minute
Three steps, and none of them involve a spreadsheet.
1Add the tableDrop Table Maker into any row. It arrives with rows already in place, so the shape is there before you type.2Type each rowA row is one child item with one field. Separate the cells with a pipe character and the module does the rest.3Dress itHeader row on or off, header colours, stripes, cell padding and border colour. That is the entire panel.
Questions people ask first
Short answers, including the things this module deliberately does not do.
Is Table Maker included in Divi Torque Pro?Yes. It is a Divi Torque Pro module, included in every plan. How do I add a column?Add another pipe to the row. A row with three pipes has four cells. Rows do not have to have the same number of cells, though a table usually reads better when they do.Can a cell hold a link, an image or bold text? No. Cells are escaped as plain text, so what you type is what renders. For anything richer, a text module is the better tool.Is the header row a real table header? Not in the markup. First Row As Header styles the top row, but every cell is rendered as a
, so there is no
for a screen reader to announce. Treat it as a visual header rather than a semantic one. What happens to a wide table on a phone? The table keeps its shape and its wrapper scrolls sideways inside its own column. It does not restack into cards, and it does not push the rest of the page out of the viewport. Can I sort or search the table? No. There is no sorting, no search, no pagination and no CSV import. Table Maker builds a static table, which is what most pages actually need.
