Accessibility Inspector

The Accessibility Inspector scans your published pages for common structural accessibility problems in Divi Torque Pro modules. It reads what is saved in your page content, so it is quick and never changes your site. It helps you find problems. It is not a compliance check, and passing it does not make a site accessible.

How to turn it on

1. Go to Divi Torque > Extensions.
2. Switch Accessibility Inspector on. The change applies immediately.
3. Open Accessibility Inspector from the Divi Torque menu.

The Accessibility Inspector is off by default.

The five checks

Autoplay with no pause button. Flags an Advanced Carousel, Advanced Logo Carousel, Testimonial Slider, Horizontal Timeline, or Advanced Post Carousel that has Autoplay switched on. These modules pause only when a mouse hovers over them, so keyboard and touch visitors cannot stop the motion. Graded warning. To clear the finding, switch Autoplay off in the module.

Missing image alt text. Flags an image with no alt text in an Advanced Carousel item, Advanced Team Member, Logo Grid item, Advanced Icon Box (image mode), or Hotspots module. A module is flagged only when an image is set and its alt text field is empty. Graded warning.

Skipped heading levels. Looks at the Smart Heading modules on a page and flags a jump such as h2 straight to h4. You get one finding per page. Graded notice.

Search field with no label. Flags an Ajax Search module, because its search field has only placeholder text. Placeholder text disappears once a visitor starts typing and is not reliably announced by screen readers. The module has no label setting, so this finding appears for every Ajax Search on a published page. Graded warning.

Icon-only search button. Flags an Ajax Search submit button that shows only an icon and no text, because it has no accessible name for screen readers. Graded warning. Add button text in the module to clear it.

Reading the report

The report opens with two counters: Warning and Notice. Below them, each finding names the module and the page. Findings that point at a page have an Edit button that opens it. Work through the warnings first.

Rescanning

Results are cached for one hour. Saving a post or page clears the cache. The Rescan button in the report header runs every check again immediately.

What it does not check

The Accessibility Inspector reads saved content only. It does not render your pages, so it cannot check color contrast, keyboard focus order, ARIA states, or reduced motion handling. It also inspects Divi Torque Pro modules only, not other plugins or your theme. Use a browser-based tool and manual testing for those.

The scan reads up to 300 published items and keeps at most 50 findings per check.
