Post Carousel
The Post Carousel module slides your posts through a responsive Divi carousel using one of six ready-made blog-card presets. You choose which posts appear with a full query panel, toggle every element on the card, and the module handles the layout. It is free in Divi Torque Lite and built natively for Divi 5.
How to add the Post Carousel module
- Open a page with the Divi Builder and add a section and row.
- Click the + icon, search for Post Carousel, and insert it.
- Pick a Card Style, then narrow the posts under Content → Query.
Content
Query
The Query group decides which posts appear in the carousel.
- Post Type — posts or pages.
- Categories, Custom Taxonomy, and Custom Taxonomy Terms — filter by category or by any registered taxonomy.
- Order By and Order — sort by date, title, ID, author, or random, ascending or descending.
- Post Limit and Offset — how many posts to pull, and how many to skip first. Offset is what lets a second carousel continue where the first one ended.
- Include Post IDs and Exclude Post IDs — force specific posts in or out.
- Date Format — how the post date is printed.
Layout Settings
Card Style is the fastest control in the module. There are six presets:
- Classic — image on top, text below. The safe default.
- Editorial — magazine-style card with prominent typography.
- Overlay — text sits over the featured image.
- Profile — leads with the author avatar and byline.
- Spotlight — emphasises a single featured post per slide.
- Horizontal — image beside the text rather than above it.
Every element on the card then has its own show/hide toggle: Show Thumbnail (with a thumbnail size), Show Title (with an H1–H6 heading level), Show Excerpt and Excerpt Length, Show Categories and Show Single Category, Show Author, Show Avatar, Show Date, and Show Read More with custom button text.
Carousel Settings
The same carousel engine as the Image Carousel — responsive Slides to Show and Slides to Scroll, Gap Between Slides, Autoplay and Autoplay Delay, Transition Speed and Transition Easing, Infinite Loop, Drag / Swipe, centre mode, and responsive Show Arrows and Show Dots.
Design
- Thumbnail Style — Image Fit (actual, contain, or cover), responsive height and width, a hover style, and When No Featured Image, which decides whether a post without a thumbnail shows a placeholder icon, a fallback image you supply, or nothing at all.
- Post Title and Post Excerpt — colour, font size, and top and bottom spacing for each.
- Category — placement in any of the four image corners, offset, background, colour, and font size.
- Author and Date — colour and font size.
- Readmore — text and background colour with separate hover values, font size, horizontal and vertical padding, border radius, and top spacing.
- Navigation Arrows, Pagination Dots, and Layout and Cursor — as on the Image Carousel.
Tip
Set When No Featured Image before the carousel goes live. Older posts often have no thumbnail, and the default placeholder makes those cards look broken next to posts that do — a fallback image keeps the row visually consistent.
Frequently asked questions
Is the Post Carousel free?
Yes. Post Carousel is included in Divi Torque Lite, free on WordPress.org. Divi Torque Pro also ships a Post Carousel module with its own layout options; the settings described on this page are the Divi 5 module in Divi Torque Lite.
Can I show posts from a custom post type?
The Post Type option covers posts and pages. To narrow by a custom taxonomy — including taxonomies registered by other plugins — use Custom Taxonomy and Custom Taxonomy Terms in the Query group.
How do I show only one category?
Pick the category under Categories in the Query group. If you want each card to display just one category label rather than every category a post belongs to, turn on Show Single Category.
Does the Post Carousel work in Divi 4?
The Divi Torque Lite Post Carousel is built exclusively for Divi 5 and does not appear in the Divi 4 Builder. If you are still on Divi 4, use the Post List module or upgrade to Divi 5.
