News Ticker

The News Ticker module scrolls a line of your latest posts or pages across the page. You choose what feeds the ticker, how fast it moves and which way it goes. Each headline links to its post or page.

How to add the News Ticker module

• Add or open a section and a row.
• Click the grey + icon and search for News Ticker.
• Insert the module, then set the query and ticker options in the module settings.

Content

Query

• Post Type: Post or Page. Default is Post.
• Included Categories: category IDs, separated by commas. Leave it empty to include all categories. This applies only when Post Type is Post.
• Order By: Date or Title. Default is Date.
• Sorted By: Ascending or Descending. Default is Descending.
• News Limit: how many items to show. Default is 5.
• Exclude by IDs: post IDs to leave out, separated by commas.
• News Offset: how many items to skip from the start. Default is 0.

Only published items are shown. If nothing matches the query, the ticker shows "No News Found".

Settings

• Use Title: shows a fixed label beside the ticker. On by default.
• Title Text: the label text. Default is "Breaking News".
• Title Position: Left or Right. Default is Left.
• Moving Speed: the time one full loop takes, from 1000ms to 1000000ms. Default is 30000ms. A higher value moves slower.
• Moving Direction: Left or Right. Default is Left.
• Item Spacing: the gap between headlines. Default is 20px.
• Pause on Hover: stops the scrolling while a visitor hovers the ticker. On by default.
• Use Bullet Before Item: adds a bullet before each headline. Off by default.
• Bullet Color: the bullet color.

A pause button is also shown on the ticker, so visitors can stop the scrolling.

Design

• Title: style the title label. Title Padding is here, entered as top, right, bottom and left values.
• News Text: font options for the headlines.

Tip

Keep Pause on Hover on. Readers can then click a headline without it moving away.
