Sticky Video

The Sticky Video module keeps a playing video on screen. When the visitor scrolls past it, the player docks to a corner at a smaller size and keeps going, and the close button hands control back to the visitor.

How to add the Sticky Video module

  1. Add a section and row, then add the Sticky Video module.
  2. Pick the source and paste the video URL or choose a file.
  3. Choose when the player should dock and to which corner.

Content

Video

  • Video Source: YouTube, Vimeo, or a self-hosted file.
  • Video URL or Video File, plus a Poster Image and Video Title.
  • Privacy-Enhanced Mode uses the no-cookie YouTube embed, and nothing loads until the visitor presses play.
  • Autoplay, Muted, Loop, and Show Controls.

Docking

  • Dock When: only after the video has been played, or whenever it scrolls out of view.
  • Docked Position: any of the four corners.
  • Dock Animation: Slide, Fade, or None.
  • Never Dock On: phones, or tablets and phones. Those devices simply play inline.
  • Close Button and Close Does: return the player to the page or stop the video.

Design

  • Aspect Ratio: 16:9, 4:3, 1:1, or 21:9.
  • Docked Width, Horizontal Offset, and Vertical Offset.
  • Docked Corner Radius, Docked Shadow, and Stack Order.

Tip

Leave Dock When on "only after it has been played". A video the visitor started is worth following them down the page. One they never started is not.
