X (Twitter) Carousel

The X (Twitter) Carousel module shows recent posts from one X account in a swipeable carousel. It reads the posts with the X API. Reading a timeline needs a paid X API plan (Basic tier or higher). Create an app at developer.x.com to get your API key and secret.

The posts come from the same source as the X (Twitter) Feed module and are cached for one hour. Replies and reposts are not shown.

  • Add the X (Twitter) Carousel module to a section and a row.
  • Enter your handle and API credentials under Content > X Feed.
  • Choose the post elements under Content > Elements, then set up the carousel.

Content

X Feed

  • User Name: your X handle. The @ is optional.
  • API Key (Consumer Key) and API Key Secret (Consumer Secret): from your X developer app.

Elements

  • Sort By: Recent Posts, Old Posts, Favorite or Retweet. Default is Recent Posts.
  • Number of Tweets: how many posts to load. Default is 8.
  • Show X Logo, Show User Image, Show Name, Show User Name, Show Date, Show Favorite and Show Retweet: toggle each part of a post. User Name is off by default.
  • Show Read More and Read More Text: a link to the post on X.

Slides

  • Slides to Show and Slides to Scroll: defaults are 3 and 1.
  • Gap Between Slides: default is 20px.
  • Vertical Direction: slides move up and down instead of left and right.

Autoplay & Motion

  • Autoplay and Autoplay Delay: on by default, with a 3000ms delay.
  • Transition Speed (default 500ms) and Transition Easing.
  • Infinite Loop: on by default.

Interaction

  • Drag / Swipe: on by default.
  • Center Active Slide, with Center Mode Style (Classic or Highlighted) and Center Peek.
  • Custom Cursor: off by default.

Arrows & Dots

  • Show Arrows and Show Dots: both on by default.
  • Previous Arrow Icon and Next Arrow Icon.

Design

  • User Avatar: Avatar Position, Avatar Placement, Avatar Offset X and Y, Profile Image Size and Avatar Spacing.
  • Tweets: Alignment, X Logo Size, Tweets Padding and Description Bottom Spacing.
  • Text: font options for the post text.
  • Footer: Footer Alignment, Footer Padding, and the color and size of the Favorite and Retweet text and icons.

Tip

Turn on Center Active Slide and set a small Center Peek. The next post shows at the edge of the carousel, which tells visitors they can swipe.
