Smart Heading

The Smart Heading module builds a heading from up to three parts: before text, center text and after text. Each part can be styled on its own. You can also add a large background word behind the heading and a decorative border element.

Text

  • Before Text: Text shown before the main heading. Style it separately from the main text.
  • Center Text: The main heading text. Default is "Heading Text".
  • After Text: Text shown after the main heading, such as a subtitle.
  • Background Text: A word shown behind the heading as a watermark.
  • Link URL: Makes the whole heading a link to this URL.
  • HTML Tag: H1 to H6, or div. Default is H1. Pick the level that fits the page outline.
  • Layout: Inline puts the parts on one line. Stacked puts each part on its own line. Default is Inline.
  • Show Border Element: Adds a short line to the heading. Off by default.
  • Text Alignment: Default, Left, Center or Right. Default inherits the module's Text option.

Heading

Font styling that applies to the whole heading. Use the groups below to override individual parts.

Before Text, Center Text and After Text

Each has its own font group. Use them to give the three parts different fonts, sizes and colors.

Background Text

Font styling for the watermark word, plus Watermark Horizontal Position and Watermark Vertical Position. Both default to 50%.

Border Element

These options apply when Show Border Element is on.

  • Placement: Horizontal draws an underline. Vertical draws a bar beside the heading.
  • Height: The height of the vertical bar.
  • Vertical Position and Horizontal Position: Offset the element.
  • Center Horizontally: Centers the element horizontally. On by default.

Before Box, Center Box and After Box

Box options for each part. Set a Border Type, Border Position (Top, Bottom or Top & Bottom), Border Weight and Border Color to draw a rule above or below a part. Text Stroke and Stroke Color outline the letters. Each group also has Divi's spacing, background and border options.
